Recipe: How to Cook Pommes Voisin | How to Cook Potato Gratin


The variations of potatoes, butter and dairy in French Cuisines is endless. This one is a gratin of potatoes with parmesan cheese.

Pommes Voisin (Potato Gratin)

600g potatoes, peeled, sliced thinly and dried 60g butter salt and pepper
2 Tblspn grated Parmesan Cheese parsley, finely chopped

Layer the potatoes neatly in a heavily greased gratin dish, overlapping slightly. Lightly season between layers with salt and pepper. Layer until about 2 cm above the dish. Brush top with the remaining melted butter. Bake in a 200 degree oven for 1 hour. Towards end of cooking, sprinkle top with cheese and continue cooking. Sprinkle with parsley.
